11 things you always wanted to know about MIKAL, but were afraid to ask
1) Interactivity - Most musical acts perform *to* the students. MIKAL performs *with* them, making him one of very few truly interactive musical artists to tour the college and university circuit. It's not unusual for MIKAL to invite dozens of students onstage throughout the show to sing cover songs with him. At times, we've had over a dozen people on stage at once singing along. One of the most interactive performances we've had was when the electricity went out mid-show at one school - We lit some candles and gathered in a circle, campfire style, to continue the performance with everyone singing together.
2) Extras - If your school is lacking in audio equipment, promotional materials, or anything else involving the show, MIKAL can help out by providing a PA, posters, radio promotion and whatever else you may need to make it a great event.
3) Touring - MIKAL tours clubs and college campuses across both the US and UK, from LA to London and everywhere in between. Not sure if he can play your area of the globe? Ask! We may even be able to put together a block discount with your school and others in the region.
4) Where's he from? - Although a Detroit native, MIKAL began his solo musical career in Boston and New York City. He also spent time in the Los Angeles music scene as a teenager.
5) Radio - MIKAL receives airplay on hundreds of commercial radio stations, plus more than 300 college and independent radio stations across the US, Canada and Europe. His songs have placed in "Top 10" charts on countless college radio stations, even taking the number one spot on many.
6) Television - In addition to radio, MIKAL's music has been featured on television stations, including Mtv, VH1, and several others.
7) Full band & acoustic solo shows - While MIKAL is a 'solo' artist, and plays plenty of solo acoustic coffeehouse style shows, he loves nothing more than putting on full band rock concerts.
